About
Ciara Broderick is a prose writer, originally from east Co. Galway, but currently based in Dublin. Her work aims to explore the relationship between people and places; how the landscapes we come from, end up on or choose to inhabit influences who we are and the actions we take. Her writing is defined by strong characterisation and evocative descriptions. She draws much inspiration from rural communities, like those in which she grew up and the intersection between modernity and the traditional elements of Irish life. Her short stories have been described as “quietly claustrophobic”, “full of empathy” and “pure magic”. They have appeared in several journals and been shortlisted for multiple awards. She is currently working on a collection of short stories and her first novel.
